Birth of a Font: Write up + Images

Upper case:

Lower case:

Because blogger was been uncooperative, I've had to put the text in this post for the Issuu files here because It kept disappearing in the post with all the font letters posted. This task was to rearrange sliced up fonts to create new ones they are the following, as named and labeled.

Raphael: Block + Serif
This combination really worked well together, the block typeface really complimented the serif typeface so it did work nicely with the cross-bar been the block element.

Michelangelo: Script + Block
I thought this match worked well, but It wouldn't really hold up as a full typeface, as the selected characters they looked good but outside of that they didn't and I don't think it'd work well as a typeface.

Leonardo: Sans-Serif + Serif
This match didn't really well, mostly down to the typeface. If it was shorter I think it would perhaps but the unsymmetrical sides didn't work to well when it comes to read as character.

Donatello: Serif + Script
Very similar like the block + serif combination this one worked by again by having a slight bit of the script in it and most serif. I think this was interesting because when there's equal amounts of each fonts they contrast harshly against one and another. When there's more than another they seem to equal out and look more appealing.

Splinter: Block + Serif
I think this an example of that, It was one of the better examples but it shows how when there's roughly equal amounts they don't really work out together when the strokes are totally opposite ends of the spectrum. The block and serif font doesn't really work to well.
