OUGD504: Web design session 3

To start todays session we started by making more buttons for our website, because at the moment there is only the Home button.

Along with an opposite button for when it rolls over.

In the code, we need to knock down the <div> tag from the end of the code because when we insert roll overs they put the </div> at the end for some reason.

After this we just repeat and put in the rest of the buttons until all 4 are there.

Ta da!

Now in the code where it was once a # in <a href="#", replace the button with the corresponding .html,  this then allows for when the pages are made for the buttons to link to that page. So Home now links to home and so forth.

Then to make the rest of the pages, I just save as 'Work.html', the names i specified in the buttons. So now that the web pages are made for all these pages, and now i have a fully working website! At the moment with no content.

Due to the current wrapper being 1024 x 768, this gives us 1024 x 668 to work with and split up for content. Using the CSS box model.

1024 / 2 = 512 px. With 20 px of padding around the edge of content.

If I was to photograph images for my website my self I wouldn't have to pay, don't use google images, instead use proper image licensing websites such as Getty images.

Lightbox for slideshows.

Vimeo to embed videos.

Getty images for images.
