Design for Print & Web: Icons


I knew for icons I needed something to match the tone that I had achieved with the logo, thick lines, geometric. Circle based. So I designed with these in mind. 



As seen above, I drew the shapes from my design sheets using circles then using the shape maker tool to combine them altogether to create the fruit and vegetables. They were incredibly successful I believe and I'm really happy with the outcomes. 


Stem connected, Or no stem connected that is the question.

Stem connected. When I reduced the side of the icons they stem looked really out of place so I connected it so the icons remained consistent throughout.




Circle scaffolding to create the pear icon, I have to admit I really enjoyed creating my icons in this way because It was incredibly fast and easy to simply just draw circles and away I go It was really helpful in terms of speed and getting it done.



The corn grains where made using two intersected circles which I thought looked rather convincing.

I tried to create the icons to be effective large and small so they'd scale well to different mediums.


I created two different sausages, I thought doing the N shaped one would be distinguishable but I didn't really look.. right. So Instead I created the sausage to be like the one below which is like a traditional sausage instead of the deli type.


I did attempt to create broccoli but I simply couldn't create the branches on the top successfully enough so I gave up on it.



I really liked the mushroom icon but It did look a bit too much like a baby sucker but I think if you don't see that in it it does look like a mushroom. I just didn't want the stem to be straight otherwise It wouldn't really fit with the rest of the set.


My turnip ended up looking to much like a radish but never-mind. It's a turnip to me. 



Circle scaffolding for the garlic, although this one turned out to be quite a bit different to the rest I'm still fairly happy with it. It looks like what it needs to and that's all It needed to do so i'm happy.






The full family complete and sized. I'm really happy with how they all look together, I think they form a really effective set of icons and work really well in partnership with the logo.

OUGD504: 3 logo development

I wondered from the previous how I could incorporate the FULLSTOP in full more. You know the dot. I put Full inside it (Font: Quicksand bold) I kinda of really dig it, it looks quite fresh looking. It just needed some polish.


It looked okay in the inverse but I think it looks to much like some sort of sticker you'd get off a dentist. It looks a bit lame this way around.



Now, with a black line ON TOP of that fill, now I really like this. It looks friendly, upbeat, maybe don't use blue...



White in the middle is okay. I definitely prefer the above.


But definitely green is a much better choice of colour to use, it's a lot more radiant and healthy looking. Full stands out at you nicer in green.


I created a few sample colours just to see how they worked together, I REALLY like the red and green colours I picked, I thought they'd work perfectly together. The blue works well just to work with but green is the colour to pick. It speaks a lot more about what it's about. Healthy food to fill.




Too much like the charity slogan. Incorporating stop works better then as a stand alone.





I really liked this when i saw it, It's rather cartoony looking at this point. But I DO like that. I don't think it wouldn't work when it comes to incorporating it into the rest of the printed material it'd work well with some sort of geometric graphics.


Squiggly lines, remind me of eye floaters.


Getting somewhere with this.


This is the part I really got excited with my logo, The last one I drew is the direction I needed to go. Combined with the development of the Feel of the logo (the thick black line, the colours, etc) This is how I got to the point of fully nailing the logo I was after.



I realised after the picture above, It NEEDED the other line around it, otherwise how would I display the logo on flat white back grounds, I needed something to contain it and that's how I arrived here, although I drew more examples of how this logo could work, I was incredibly content with how this one looked already so I stuck to it.

For the next set of logos I digitalised, I tried to be a lot more playful, I created a quick looking typeface using circles and rectangles (below) I really like how it came out but I don't really think it looks too professional and perhaps not something you would associate with food. Full stop still doesn't really come across to well here.




See I liked this one but I think the inclusion of the brackets kind of ruins it, I reckon it would be nice just typed out however without but It kind of ruins the whole concept.




The concept here still wasn't really fully there yet, Full space? 


I tried to be a bit more cheeky with the design, implying you'd get a food baby but I don't think it worked to well considering I haven't really got the logo for this nailed down yet.



Thinner type looked nice, reminded me too much of something like new look.


Too much like the charity that uses the Full. stop slogan here.


Looks too much like the middle of a bullet or a liquorice all sort.

Design for Print & Web: Initial logo idea

From my initial ideas of where to take the branding I knew I wanted it to be something that would be possibly be a bit cheeky. I create a few concepts, I wanted to test them all thoroughly to make sure they worked digitally and then pick the most successful logo. 



I started with a plain one, although I really like this logo I think it looks a bit too modern and plain for something thats targeting students. It looks a bit upper class. I thought Full. worked quite well but it wasn't really getting it across too well.

Font: Mission gothic bold.



I like this colour combination, but Im still unsure with this logo.


Full like this just seems a bit cheap and I don't like it.



The shade of grey here I really enjoy it's a lovely lush colour and it speaks healthy food here immediately.



I don't think like this the concept of the Full & stop is coming across fully as I would like.
