OUGD505: Type with Graham (2)

How to Kern correctly.

You never reduce the space, you add in white space to make the spacing between them all equal. Pick one to stay at 0, then add on to the others.

How do you break a sentence into two lines.

(1)

You put in an imaginary comma into the sentence to put in the break into the readers head instead of just trying to fit the words on the page.

Hierarchy:

ADD IN LEADING rather than increase point size.

If you are short of space use indenting (and remove paragraph spacing) when restricted to words on a page.
